Broome International Airport’s Heliport

Proudly Supporting Offshore Operations in the Kimberley

The Broome International Airport Heliport is a dedicated rotary-wing facility built to support vital offshore operations in the Browse Basin.

Located within the Broome Airport precinct, this purpose-built Heliport helps move thousands of workers safely and efficiently to some of Australia’s most remote oil and gas installations.

Built to Support the Offshore Sector

We’ve designed the Heliport with the needs of industry in mind, offering safe, efficient, and purpose-built infrastructure for offshore helicopter operations.

Flight Volumes

The Heliport handles over 45,000 passenger movements each year. Helicopters typically carry up to 15 passengers per flight to remote offshore facilities all year round.

Specialised Infrastructure

We’ve tailored everything, from dedicated check-in and briefing rooms to direct airside access, to meet operational standards and ensure smooth, coordinated crew movements.

Hangars and Aircraft Support

With four large hangars on site, the Heliport offers space for helicopter maintenance and storage, keeping crews flying safely and on schedule.

A Key Link in the Kimberley Energy Network

Strategically located on Western Australia’s northwest coast, the Broome International Airport Heliport is the region’s main rotary-wing gateway to the offshore energy sector.

It supports essential flights to and from oil and gas facilities in the Browse Basin, along with emergency services and logistics flights to some of the most remote worksites in Australia. Dependable, well-equipped, and supported by an experienced team, the Heliport keeps vital operations moving.

Working with Our Communities

We believe strong partnerships help the region grow. A great example is our long-standing collaboration with the Djarindjin Aboriginal Community, based on the Dampier Peninsula.

In 2010, Broome International Airport helped fund the redevelopment of the Djarindjin Airport. Today, the community manages the facility independently, supporting the Royal Flying Doctor Service (RFDS), helicopter, and logistics flights, all delivered by a skilled local team.
